The court revoked Sowore’s bail on June 16 for failure to appear.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Umar took judicial notice of Sowore’s readiness to stand trial, as he did not wait to be arrested before appearing in court. He noted that the court will exercise its discretion in granting him bail.

The Counsel to Sowore noted that his passport is with the US Embassy in Lagos and that he will need to appear in person to obtain it so he can submit it to the court.

The counsel went further and prayed the court to release Sowore to them, to enable them to fulfil his bail conditions.
