Iranian media reported explosions in several locations in southern Iran including areas near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
The blasts were heard in the port city of Bandar Abbas, on Qeshm Island, and in the cities of Minab and Sirik on Wednesday.
Iranian media also reported that locations in Qeshm, Kargan and Sirik were struck by what officials described as hostile projectiles.

The reports came shortly after the United States acknowledged carrying out what it described as additional defensive military strikes against multiple targets in Iran.
The US Central Command said in a post on X(formerly Twitter) that the operations were intended as a response to what it characterised as continued Iranian aggression.
U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction. The strikes are in response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression.
