Leeds United manager Daniel Farke praised his team’s “fantastic performance” following a historic 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Driven by a first-half brace from Noah Okafor, the victory marked Leeds’ first league win at the venue since 1981.

Farke described the result as a major leap forward in the club’s battle for Premier League survival, especially as it moved the newly-promoted side six points clear of the relegation zone.

The match reached a high-tension climax after Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez was sent off for a second-half foul on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Despite being a man down, the hosts pushed back through a Casemiro header, forcing Leeds to defend desperately.

Farke’s squad relied on two crucial goal-line clearances in the final moments to secure their first league victory over their rivals since 2002.

Reflecting on the achievement, Farke emphasised the importance of staying calm during the “crunch time” of the season.

While celebrating the milestone win—Leeds’ first at Old Trafford in over 40 years—the manager urged his players to remain humble as they balance their top-flight survival bid with an upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

He noted that while the team is still evolving, they are currently on a very positive trajectory.
