The countdown to the expanded 2026 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup has taken shape with the football governing body unveiling training base locations for all 48 participating nations across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Defending champions Argentina and England are among the teams assigned to Kansas City as part of the distribution of camps designed to anchor national squads throughout the tournament period.
FIFA confirmed that 39 teams will be based in the United States, seven in Mexico, and two in Canada.
The announcement showcases how each team will be assigned a dedicated “base camp” where players will train, recover, and settle into daily tournament routines.
FIFA described the base camps as a central element of World Cup planning, noting that they provide teams with stability and structure throughout the competition.
Iran was allocated a base in Tijuana, Mexico, a decision that comes following earlier arrangements allowing the team to avoid visa complications linked to travel into the United States.
Mexico will also host several other teams, including Colombia, South Korea, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uruguay, while Canada will accommodate Canada and Panama.
Most remaining teams will be stationed across various cities in the United States, completing the continent-wide spread of preparations ahead of the tournament kickoff next month.
