Fire Hits Nigerian Mortgage Bank Headquarters In Abuja

The Nigerian Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has confirmed that a fire broke out at part of its headquarters in Abuja on Saturday night, with no casualties recorded.

The bank disclosed in a statement that the fire affected sections of the second floor of its Head Office located in the Central Business District of Abuja.

According to the statement, the incident occurred a few minutes after 8 pm on Saturday.

FMBN said combined teams from the Nigerian Fire Service and the FCT Fire Service responded quickly and successfully brought the fire under control before it could spread further.

“Combined teams from the Federal Fire Service and the FCT Fire Service quickly deployed to the building were able to contain the flames and bring the fire under control. Thankfully, no injuries were recorded,” the statement said.

The bank added that investigations have begun to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.

“Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire. A detailed statement will be issued once we determine the extent of damage,” it added.

FMBN thanked the public, its stakeholders, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the fire services for their swift response and support during the incident.
