Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Audu Sule-Katagum, has died at the age of 69.
His death was announced on Saturday by Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, who served as his digital and creative media aide.
In a statement, Lukman said the deputy governor passed away in the early hours of the day.
He described Sule-Katagum as a dedicated public servant who contributed significantly to the development of his community, Bauchi State and the country.

Lukman also prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arch. Audu Sule-Katagum, Wazirin Katagum and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State.
“The deceased passed away in the early hours of today after a life of dedicated service to his community, Bauchi State, and the nation,” the statement read.
Sule-Katagum served as Chief of Staff at the Bauchi State Government House before he was appointed deputy governor under former Governor Mohammed Abubakar. He held the office from 2018 to 2019.
The late politician has been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
