Four men died and another sustained injuries early Monday morning after a speeding Toyota Camry crashed along the Awka–Enugu Expressway in Anambra State.
The vehicle veered off the road opposite the Old Government House at around 4:31 am, struck a culvert, and somersaulted into a drainage ditch.
Emergency responders evacuated the injured survivor to a nearby hospital, while medical staff at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital and Apex Hospital confirmed the four fatalities.
Federal Road Safety Corps officials recovered the vehicle, along with cash and personal belongings, towing the wreckage to the Anambra State Sector Command.

Following the incident, Sector Commander Bridget Asekhauno urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and maintain functional safety devices, warning that excessive speed drastically reduces reaction time and increases crash severity during early morning hours.
