Manchester United manager Michael Carrick brushed off claims on Monday that he faces a two-game deadline to save his job as he prepares his side for Tuesday’s Champions League encounter against Roma.
Carrick’s position remains under intense pressure following Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Chelsea, which extended United’s winless streak across all competitions to nine matches—their worst run since 1984.
Despite sitting just above the Premier League relegation zone and holding 20th place in the Champions League standings, Carrick insisted he remains fully focused on preparing for the upcoming matches against Roma and Aston Villa.
He defended Lisandro Martinez following his red card at Stamford Bridge, dismissing any concerns regarding squad commitment or morale within the dressing room.

Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo supported his manager during Monday’s press conference, stating that the squad needs only a single victory to spark a turnaround in momentum.
Meanwhile, Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini warned his squad against underestimating United, insisting that the English club still possesses world-class talent capable of causing problems at Old Trafford.
