At least three teams have fallen out of contention for places in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 after results left them without enough points to progress from their groups.

Tunisia became the most recent side to bow out after suffering a 4-0 loss to Japan in Monterrey on Sunday, a result that sealed their fate in Group F.

The North African team had already been placed on the brink of elimination after a 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening match.

With no points from their first two games and only one fixture remaining, they are now unable to progress, as a maximum of three points is no longer sufficient to reach the Round of 32.

Elsewhere in Group C, Brazil secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Haiti in Philadelphia, ending Haiti’s campaign.

Haiti finished bottom of the group with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of minus four. Their final group fixture against Morocco on June 24 will have no impact on qualification.

In Group D, Türkiye also exited the competition after a 1-0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

The result left them without a point from two matches, confirming their elimination with one group game still to play.
