The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that tackling insecurity remains a key priority of the administration of Bola Tinubu.

Akpabio said the Federal Government of Nigeria had introduced measures aimed at curbing insecurity and restoring safety across the country.

He made the remarks on Friday during the inauguration of a sub-committee of the National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akpabio noted that the ruling party remains satisfied with the president’s efforts so far and expressed confidence that the administration will continue implementing policies to reposition Nigeria as a safe and secure nation.

He also urged Nigerians to strengthen the country’s internal capacity, particularly in the face of global economic and political uncertainties.

Referencing international tensions, including the Russia–Ukraine War and developments involving Iran, Israel and the United States, Akpabio said such conflicts continue to affect the global economy.

Encouraging citizens to support local production, he said: “This is the time to think Nigeria. In everything we do, both in terms of policies and legislation, we must look inward, consume what we produce and produce what we consume.”
