The disruption prompted many users to turn to X to check whether others were experiencing the same issue.

Meta had not issued an official statement on the cause of the outage as of the time of filing.

The latest disruption came just a week after Facebook and Instagram experienced another widespread outage, preventing millions of users worldwide from accessing their accounts.

That earlier incident affected Facebook’s website, mobile app and Messenger service, with many users reporting they had been automatically logged out of their accounts.
