Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, removing the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Toyin Balogun, and appointing Faosafat Sanni as her replacement with immediate effect.

The changes were announced on Wednesday in a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju.

“The governor has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the redeployment of Faosat Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. Sanni takes over from Toyin Balogun, who has been relieved of her appointment.

Sanni previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023. She was later moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023 before her recent deployment to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative.

The latest reshuffle comes a day after Makinde forwarded the name of the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Olabode Ladipo, to the Oyo State House of Assembly for confirmation as commissioner.

The governor also approved several appointments, including Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Isola Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs, and Oladejo Oladokun as a part-time member of the Local Government Service Commission.

A letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, stated that the appointments take effect from July 1, 2026.

Makinde urged the newly appointed officials to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, loyalty and commitment.

The governor had earlier carried out a cabinet reshuffle in January 2026, relieving Olanike Adeyemo of her position as Secretary to the State Government and appointing Musibau Babatunde as her successor.

During the same exercise, Barrister Temilolu Ashamu was reassigned from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Makinde also named Ademola Aderinto as commissioner-designate while appointing Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
