Nigeria Repatriates Chadian Murder Suspect

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was wanted by authorities in N’Djamena, Chad, over the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, arrested Abdoulaye following an intelligence-led operation in Kano State.

The suspect was accused of involvement in the torture and killing of Saleh on 3rd May, 2026. An international warrant of arrest was subsequently issued by the Court of Appeal, N’Djamena, on 22nd June, 2026, for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, in connection with the case.

Police authorities said Abdoulaye fled to Nigeria after the incident and were able to trace her to Railway Quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, where they arrested her on 5th August, 2026. The Nigeria Police Force also linked her to suspected narcotics trafficking activities in Chad.

Following her arrest, Abdoulaye was repatriated to N’Djamena on 14th August, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under bilateral police cooperation arrangements between Nigeria and Chad.

The operation was carried out by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to ensure the suspect’s return to Chad to face judicial proceedings.

Commending the operation, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, praised the professionalism and coordination of INTERPOL officers involved in the arrest and repatriation.

The police chief said the development demonstrates the Force’s commitment to ensuring that individuals wanted for serious crimes do not evade justice by crossing international borders.

“The successful arrest and repatriation reflects the Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders,” the IGP said.

The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to strengthening international partnerships, tracking wanted persons and disrupting cross-border criminal networks.
