Nigerian fuel marketers resumed loading petrol and diesel from private depots on Tuesday following a week-long operational halt caused by recent downstream price adjustments.
Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria’s spokesperson, Chinedu Ukadike, dismissed fears of an imminent fuel shortage, explaining that depot operators temporarily paused loading to re-evaluate inventory and process “top-up” payments from buyers following the latest price increases.
The operational restart coincides with sharp price hikes across major depots in Lagos, where ex-depot petrol costs jumped by ₦25 to reach ₦1,275 per litre.
Market volatility remains high across the country as depot operators react to regional supply shifts and the Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s shift to dollar-denominated fuel sales.

While depots in Port Harcourt, Calabar, and Warri recorded mixed price adjustments, consumers continue to face elevated costs at retail pumps nationwide.
