NWFL Super Six Draw Sets Stage for Title Battle

The draw for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six has been completed, paving the way for an exciting title race among Nigeria’s top six women’s football clubs.

The season-ending tournament will be hosted at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for the first time and will be played in a round-robin format, with each team featuring in five matches. At the conclusion of the competition, the club with the most points will be crowned league champions and earn the right to represent Nigeria in the WAFU-B qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The opening day will feature three fixtures, beginning with Edo Queens FC against Nasarawa Amazons. Hosts Rivers Angels FC will then take on FC Robo Queens, while Bayelsa Queens FC face Abia Angels FC in the final match of the day.

On Match Day Two, Abia Angels FC will meet Rivers Angels FC, Nasarawa Amazons will battle Bayelsa Queens FC, and FC Robo Queens will take on Edo Queens FC.

The third round of matches will see Edo Queens FC play Abia Angels FC, Rivers Angels FC face Bayelsa Queens FC, and FC Robo Queens square off against Nasarawa Amazons.

Match Day Four will feature FC Robo Queens versus Bayelsa Queens FC, Abia Angels FC against Nasarawa Amazons, and a highly anticipated encounter between Edo Queens FC and Rivers Angels FC.

The final round of fixtures will see Nasarawa Amazons take on Rivers Angels FC, Abia Angels FC face FC Robo Queens, and Bayelsa Queens FC clash with Edo Queens FC.

The competition, which will run from June 6 to June 14, is expected to provide a thrilling conclusion to the NWFL season as the country’s leading women’s clubs compete for the league title and a place on the continental stage.

Ahead of the tournament, NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi congratulated the qualified teams and assured participants of a transparent and fair competition.

Speaking during the draw ceremony in Port Harcourt, she also praised the Rivers State Government for hosting the event and reiterated the league’s commitment to maintaining high standards of competitiveness.
