Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated former Delta State Governor James Ibori on his 68th birthday, commending his leadership and lasting contributions to the state’s growth.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, Oborevwori prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health and long life for Ibori as he marked his birthday.
The governor said Ibori inspired many through his vision, resilience and commitment to public service during his tenure as Delta State governor from 1999 to 2007.
He described the former governor as “a great motivator and an inspirational leader” who laid a solid foundation for the state’s growth and development.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate our dynamic and inspirational leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, on his 68th birth anniversary,” the statement read.
“May your special day be filled with joy and pleasant memories. Congratulations.”
Ibori served as governor of Delta State from 1999 to 2007 and remains an influential figure in the state’s politics.
His supporters credit him with initiating key infrastructure and development projects, while political leaders, including Oborevwori, have continued to acknowledge his contributions to Delta State’s growth.
