A person has been killed in a shooting involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Biddeford, Maine, with state police and the FBI set to investigate the incident.
Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau confirmed the shooting in a Facebook post on Monday, saying, “This morning, a shooting occurred in Biddeford. A person was killed. ICE was involved.”
Maine Governor Janet Mills said she had been briefed on the incident, describing it as a “fatal shooting involving Federal law enforcement.” She added that state authorities were working with federal agents to establish what happened.

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, has not immediately commented on the shooting.
Local media images showed a police cordon around a residential area, with investigators at the scene. Anti-ICE protesters gathered at the location and planned further demonstrations following the incident.
Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree said she was “deeply disturbed and angry” by the shooting.
“My sympathy to the individual and their family, and to the entire community of Biddeford, and for all of us in Maine, we will be mourning yet another victim,” she said.
The incident comes days after an ICE agent shot and killed a Mexican man during an operation in Houston, Texas, prompting renewed criticism of the agency’s role in President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
