More than 140 combatants were killed in heavy clashes between Yemeni government forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels in the country’s southwest between midday Saturday and early Sunday, military sources from both sides told AFP on Sunday.

Two military officials with the Saudi-backed government forces said 84 of their troops had been killed, most of them in missile attacks.
