Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Sunday that he expects a team of US negotiators to visit Moscow once Washington becomes less preoccupied with its ongoing diplomatic efforts regarding Iran.
In an interview published by the Kremlin, Putin stated that Russia anticipates the arrival of these American officials immediately following the conclusion of the active phase on the Iranian track.
He emphasised that Moscow remains fully prepared to resume direct dialogue and discuss all necessary details with the incoming US delegation.
Putin’s comments addressed the current state of Russian-US relations following the recent G7 summit in France.

At that summit, US President Donald Trump publicly urged Russia to negotiate and make a deal with Ukraine.
Trump recently shifted his tone regarding the conflict, stating on Wednesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was performing well in the war, a contrast to his previous remarks suggesting Zelensky lacked the necessary leverage to win.
