Russia has resumed strikes on Kyiv following the end of a three-day pause in attacks, Ukraine’s emergency service said late Monday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered the temporary halt as United States President Donald Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, visited Russia and Ukraine over the weekend.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said Russian drones targeted the Boryspil and Fastiv districts.
The Kyiv city military administration also announced an air raid alert in the capital over the threat of a drone attack and urged residents to seek shelter.
Russia’s state news agency TASS had earlier reported that the three-day pause in strikes had expired.
The renewed attacks came as Witkoff said progress had been made in discussions between Ukraine and Russia, raising the possibility of reviving three-way peace talks to end the conflict.
