Russian Strike Kills Four in Ukraine

Russia launched a devastating overnight assault on Ukraine, deploying more than 660 drones and missiles in one of the largest barrages of the conflict.

The attack primarily targeted the southeastern city of Dnipro, along with several other regions, resulting in at least four deaths and over 30 injuries.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the strikes focused heavily on urban infrastructure, leaving emergency teams searching for survivors trapped beneath the ruins of residential buildings.

In Dnipro, rescuers recovered two bodies from a struck building, while dozens more were treated for injuries.

Further north, in the Chernihiv region, additional missile and drone strikes claimed two more lives and wounded several others.

Ukraine’s air force reported that while they managed to intercept 580 drones and 30 missiles, the sheer volume of the 666-projectile onslaught overwhelmed local defences in multiple locations.

Following the strikes, President Zelenskyy renewed his urgent appeal to international partners for advanced air defence systems.

He emphasised that the scale of the bombardment serves as a grim reminder of the need for immediate and firm action to protect Ukrainian communities.

While Russia has maintained a pattern of smaller nightly drone incursions, this latest large-scale offensive highlights a continued strategy of targeting civilian centres and critical infrastructure.
