Music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to a smaller federal prison in Pennsylvania following reports of a fight and alleged preferential treatment at his previous facility.
A Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman confirmed to AFP on Friday that the 56-year-old was moved from the Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey to Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania.
Both facilities are low-security prisons for male offenders, but Allenwood Low houses about 1,000 inmates, compared with roughly 4,000 at Fort Dix.

The Bureau of Prisons did not disclose the reason for Combs’ transfer, citing privacy and security considerations surrounding individual inmates.
US media reports said Combs was treated at a hospital for a head injury after an altercation with another prisoner last weekend.
NBC News also reported in September that Combs had enjoyed access to privileges at Fort Dix, including alleged access to contraband mobile phones and alcohol.

The report further claimed that other inmates cooked and cleaned for him and that he had access to a person who provided Chinese-style massages.
The Bureau of Prisons did not explain why Combs was transferred to the new prison.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” a spokeswoman said.

Combs was sentenced in 2025 after a high-profile trial that centred on allegations involving sexual gatherings known as “freak-offs”, which prosecutors said involved hired male escorts and his former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, among others.
A jury acquitted him of the most serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering but convicted him on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
Combs is currently scheduled for release in 2028.
