Senator Natasha: My Husband Suggested the Helicopter for Kogi Rally

Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has revealed that the decision to use a helicopter for her visit to her constituency was her husband’s idea.

She made this known during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels TV programme, on Thursday.

The Kogi State government recently imposed restrictions on political rallies and convoys, citing security concerns. However, despite the ban, a large crowd gathered in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area to welcome the senator.

While addressing her supporters, she declared, “This is my home, this is my town. Nobody can stop me from coming home. I am the daughter of the late Dr. Abdul Akpoti.”

When asked about the choice of a helicopter, she explained, “It was my husband’s idea. Since all roads leading to my house were blocked, he suggested we use a helicopter instead.”

She claimed the restrictions were deliberately targeted at her, as they coincided with her planned visit.

“But I didn’t break any law. The gathering took place on my property. I built the road leading to my house. So, there was no law broken,” she asserted.
