South Korea Inks $950B AI Chip Deals with US

South Korean chip giants Samsung Electronics and SK hynix signed landmark agreements worth $950 billion to supply advanced memory chips to major US technology firms, including Nvidia and Broadcom.

Presidential Chief of Staff for Policy Kim Yong-beom announced the deals in San Francisco during President Lee Jae-myung’s summit with top American technology leaders.

The multi-year partnerships aim to accelerate the expansion of global artificial intelligence infrastructure by securing critical hardware supplies for next-generation processors.

Chicago Agency Woos Nigerian Enterprises

Under the framework, SK Hynix finalised a five-year, $750 billion cooperation agreement with Nvidia to supply high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and co-develop optimised hardware for large language model training and physical AI applications.

Simultaneously, Samsung Electronics signed a $200 billion memorandum of understanding with Broadcom covering advanced memory products and foundry services over the next five years.
