An 18-year-old man has been killed and more than 40 people affected after a double-decker bus crashed and overturned in southern Sweden on Monday, authorities said.
The accident happened shortly after 4:30 pm local time between the towns of Växjö and Alvesta, according to police.
Images from the scene showed the bus lying on its side, with several ambulances and fire engines deployed to the area.
Police confirmed that the 18-year-old victim died in the crash.

Earlier, the local health authority, Region Kronoberg, said about 10 of those affected had sustained serious injuries.
“In total, more than 40 people have been affected by the bus accident, of whom around 10 are currently seriously injured,” Kronoberg said in a separate statement earlier.
Emergency services responded to the crash as authorities began assessing the extent of the injuries and circumstances surrounding the accident.
