The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned 20-minute interruption affecting customers on the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) network in Suleja and surrounding areas on Saturday, September 26.
The interruption is scheduled between 1 pm and 4 pm as TCN carries out preventive maintenance on the Gwarinpa-Suleja 132/33kV Line 2 bay switchgear and associated equipment.

Customers in Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Zuba, Sabon Wuse and nearby areas are expected to be affected.
TCN said the brief interruption will allow electricity load to be transferred from Gwarinpa–Suleja Line 2 to Kubwa–Suleja Line 1 while the maintenance is carried out.
“Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will experience a 20-minute interruption of power supply only to customers in Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Zuba, Sabon Wuse and environs,” TCN said.

“The interruption is to enable the transfer of load from Gwarinpa–Suleja Line 2 to Kubwa–Suleja Line 1 to facilitate the maintenance exercise without a prolonged outage,” it added. .
The company said the arrangement would allow the work to be completed without causing a prolonged outage. TCN explained that the interruption was necessary to carry out the maintenance safely and efficiently.
The company apologised to customers in the affected areas for the inconvenience and said the exercise was part of its annual preventive maintenance programme to maintain the transmission network’s reliability.
