A three-storey building collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State on Thursday, leaving an unspecified number of people trapped beneath the debris.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:40 a.m., although the exact number of occupants affected could not be immediately confirmed.

Residents and bystanders gathered at the scene shortly after the collapse, expressing concern over those believed to be trapped.

As of the time of reporting, emergency responders had not yet arrived at the site. 

The cause of the collapse was not immediately known, and there was no official information on casualties.
