President Bola Tinubu has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of contributing to the hunger and hardship facing Nigerians.
Tinubu made the allegation on Saturday during his presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He challenged Atiku to explain how he built a university while serving as Vice-President of Nigeria, insisting that he used public resources and the efforts of Nigerians to establish the institution.
The President said those complaining about hunger were among the people responsible for the problems they were now criticising.
He said, “To every salary earner, there is a dependent and somebody sharing the food at home, those people talking of hunger are talking about the mess they created. Atiku was one of them, ask him how he built a university while in office as Vice President in charge of our economy.

“Who built the university for him? It’s your money; it’s your effort. A man without moral integrity, latitude and ethics for the office.”
Tinubu maintained that his administration was working to address the problems inherited from previous governments.
He also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing him as a development partner of his administration.
The President commended Wike for his efforts towards infrastructure development, describing him as hardworking and committed to his responsibilities.
He said, “Today, I have many of you, Rivers people, in government working so hard, particularly Wike. Wike is already a development partner of Tinubu’s administration.
“He is doing a wonderful job, committed, very hardworking, a man with vision and combines that with mission. Help thank him for me for his contribution to the infrastructural development of our country.”
The rally attracted a large crowd of supporters from across Rivers State.
Those in attendance included Governor Siminalayi Fubara, top All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and other political stakeholders.
