US President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will resign, citing what he called “failure” on immigration and energy policy, as speculation mounts over the UK leader’s political future.
“Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well!”

The US president’s comments came as British media reported that Starmer is considering a timetable for his departure, potentially as early as Monday.
The prime minister has faced intensifying pressure from within his Labour Party following a decisive by-election victory by rival Andy Burnham, who is now widely seen as a leadership contender.
