United States (US) President Donald Trump has said he has instructed US negotiators not to rush into a deal with Iran, as discussions continue over a possible agreement to end tensions in the Middle East.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said negotiations are ongoing and should be handled carefully.
“The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side,” he wrote.
He added that restrictions on Iran will remain in place until any agreement is fully reached and signed.
Also speaking regarding the deal, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said talks were complex and could not be completed quickly.
“We’re not kicking it till later. Nuclear talks are highly technical matters,” Rubio told The New York Times, noting that several regional countries support the process.

According to reports, a draft framework being discussed includes a temporary ceasefire, reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and renewed talks on Iran’s nuclear programme.
Iranian officials said discussions are moving toward a broad framework agreement, though details are still being finalised, while some US Republican lawmakers have expressed concern that any deal could favour Iran or weaken existing pressure on Tehran.
