According to him, police officers were the first to arrive at the scene and evacuated the remains of the victims to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital.

He added that FRSC personnel later cleared debris from the road to restore traffic flow.

“Policemen arrived there before our men and they were able to carry the corpses of the deceased to the Plateau State Specialists Hospital where they were deposited.

“Meanwhile, our men ensured there was no obstruction and were able to clear all obstructions on that road,” Longsan stated.

Longsan attributed the crash to speeding and dangerous driving, warning motorists against violating speed limits.

He explained that trailers, restricted from inner-city roads, often divert to the bypass where some drivers tend to over-speed, increasing the risk of crashes.

He urged motorists to exercise caution, especially when using alternative routes.

“We advise that if they are taking the bypass, they should move at a reasonable speed so that they don’t constitute danger to other road users,” he said.
