In order to boost its tourism revenue and grow the economy, Uganda requires about Shs68billion to connect internet and other telecommunication networks at its tourism sites.

This is according to recommendations of the Parliament’s Committee on ICT and National Guidance which says tourists who visit different sites and national Safari parks in Uganda cannot keep in touch with families due to lack of connectivity.

The committee urged the parliament to appropriate the funds, as private companies that run some of the tourism sites across the country cannot afford to invest in connectivity.
