Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide support the President’s second-term ambition.
He stated this on Saturday during the APC presidential primary exercise held at Ward 6, Itoko, Abeokuta, where party members participated in large numbers.
Speaking with journalists after voting, he said that the exercise was an opportunity for party members to publicly demonstrate loyalty to the President and the APC, adding that his presence was to show support for both.
He noted that APC stakeholders had already aligned on Tinubu’s re-election bid, explaining that the process was simply a confirmation of an existing consensus across the party.
He further stated that similar endorsement exercises had already taken place at other levels, and what was happening across wards nationwide was part of a coordinated reaffirmation of support.

“Well, you know today is very special. Today is for the President and we all must come out to show and demonstrate that yes, we are for the President, we are for APC, and that’s why I am here,” Amosun said.
“You know we have done the one for the governor, so all of us are in sync, we have all taken that position. So, it is just to reaffirm what we have done and that is what happened. Today, all of us in Nigeria, not just this place, every ward in Nigeria is doing this and we have to come here to participate and do our bit too,” he added.
The former governor said he was pleased with the turnout, describing it as a reflection of enthusiasm and growing support for the President.
He also commended the peaceful conduct of party members, noting that the orderly process reflected unity within the APC and a shared commitment to Tinubu’s return in 2027.
“I am happy with our people. You can see they are very excited and eager to be part of what is going on. I am satisfied with the process and you could see how the people came out in their numbers. See the crowd on ground; they have come to show support for our President,” he stated.
“We are orderly and that is what it should be. All of us are speaking with one voice, no dissension. Everybody has agreed that yes, we want our President to return,” Amosun added.
