Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes claimed her second consecutive victory at the Tour de France Femmes on Sunday, surging ahead to win Stage 2.
Wearing the yellow jersey, the two-time European champion launched a powerful sprint 250 metres from the finish line to beat the peloton by several bike lengths after the 147.9 km route from Aigle to Geneva.
The victory allowed Wiebes to extend her overall lead in the general classification.
Italy’s Elisa Balsamo finished second on the stage, while Dutch veteran Marianne Vos took third.

Top contenders Demi Vollering, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, and Kasia Niewiadoma all crossed safely within the main pack.
