Nigerians hold the real power in the country’s democracy, not the politicians they elect, the Managing Director of News Central TV, Kayode Akintemi, said on Thursday.
Akintemi said this during News Central TV’s Town Hall in Plateau State, themed: “The Middle Belt Question: Why Does the Violence Persist?”
“Without you, there will be no Tinubu, there will be no Atiku, there will be no Obi, there will be no Senator Akpabio; there will be none of them without you,” Akintemi said.
He reminded the audience that political leaders are elevated by the people they serve, noting that, “It is because of you that they are elevated to where they are.”
Akintemi’s remarks came against the backdrop of a recent investigation by News Central TV in Katsina State, where bandits known as Kachalas declared a six-month unilateral ceasefire.

The bandits demanded that the government provide hospitals and schools in exchange for lasting peace, a request that has gone unanswered, according to Akintemi.
“Without you, there will be no Tinubu, there will be no Atiku, there will be no Obi… Don’t let any of them divide you and create this kind of enmity…”
