German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Berlin on Tuesday for talks focusing on Germany’s support for Kyiv in its war against Russia.
Merz announced the visit at an event hosted by the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The visit comes after US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, announced that Ukrainian, Russian and US officials would hold a trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi next week.
The meeting is expected to push forward efforts to negotiate an end to the war.
Zelensky’s visit will also coincide with a security and defence conference in Berlin. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda is expected to deliver the opening address.
The conference will focus mainly on the war in Ukraine and growing concerns about the threat Russia poses to Europe.
