Kyiv officials have revealed that a convention centre housing the party headquarters of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was hit in a Russian attack while he was addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
The attack on the convention centre was one of several attacks across the country throughout the day.
Strikes were also reported near a university and at the convention centre twice, with the second occurring while Zelensky spoke, according to CNN.

Emergency services said the roof of the convention centre was damaged and the fire from the attack was put out.
Regional Governor Vadym Filashkin said Russian forces dropped four aerial bombs on the Ukrainian village of Oleksandrivka in the eastern Donetsk region on Wednesday morning, killing at least five people.
At least six people were reportedly injured in the bombing, while seven others, including two children, are believed to be trapped under rubble after the morning attack, Filashkin said on Telegram.
No fewer than 12 apartment buildings, 42 private homes, an administrative building, a kindergarten, a shop and seven vehicles were damaged in the strikes.
Filashkin added that search-and-rescue efforts are ongoing.
