Fireboy, Olamide to Feature on Empire’s African Compilation Album

Empire has announced its first-ever African compilation album, Where We Come From (Vol. 1), on Friday (Oct. 14). It will feature Fireboy DML, Wande Coal, BNXN fka Buju, Olamide, L.A.X. among others.

Kizz Daniel released the first single “Cough (Odo)” from the LP, celebrating and amplifying Africa’s rising stars and their music. “For this song, I wanted to highlight the feeling of new love,” he said in a statement. “The song itself is energetic, celebratory and really captures what it’s like to impress someone new.

The collect, set for release on November 18, 2022, spotlights Afrobeats artists Fireboy DML, BNXN, Wande Coal, Olamide, L.A.X, Tolani, Cheque and more.

The set also features Tanzanian duo Navy Kenzo, Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif, Moroccan artist Leil, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Kizz Daniel, who all havePheelz and Buju’s ‘Finesse’ Features on FIFA23 Soundtrack strong focus tracks on the album. 

Empire CEO, Ghazi Shami, said “This is a legendary moment for Empire to be able to share incredible African music with the world, much of which we were fortunate enough to record at our studio here in San Francisco.”
