Burna Boy Now First African Artiste to Receive Plaque for 2 Billion Streams in UK

Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, real name Damini Ogulu, has become the first and only African artiste to hit the two billion stream mark in the United Kingdom.

Ogulu was given a Brit plaque on Monday night at his sold-out show at Koko Camden London. The recognition comes a few weeks after he was presented with a Brit 1 billion streams plaque at his sold-out show at the London Stadium last month.
While receiving his plaque, Burna Boy claimed that he fought for it.

He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”
One of the presenters inferred: “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.”
Burna Boy rebuffed: “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
