The naira continued its decline against the dollar, ending the week on a negative note at the foreign exchange market.
FMDQ data revealed that the naira fell to N1,652.25 per dollar on Friday, down from N1,645.45 on Thursday, a N6.5 depreciation.
In the black market, the naira traded at N1,740 per dollar on Friday, slightly up from between N1,738 and N1,745 the previous day. Despite interventions from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira saw more depreciation than appreciation throughout the week.
