Lionel Messi rediscovered his scoring prowess on Saturday, netting two goals to lead Inter Miami to a commanding 5-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.

The emphatic win saw Miami bounce back strongly after their recent 3-0 defeat to FC Cincinnati.

Despite a rocky start where Alexander Hack put the Red Bulls ahead in the 14th minute, Messi quickly took control. He set up former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba for the equaliser in the 24th minute with a sublime pass.

Just three minutes later, Messi combined with Alba again, delivering another brilliant pass that Alba crossed for Telasco Segovia to tap in, giving Miami the lead. Segovia then added his second goal deep into first-half stoppage time, putting Inter Miami firmly in command.

Second-Half Dominance

Messi dominated the second half as Miami extended their lead. A majestic through ball from another former Barcelona teammate, Sergio Busquets, sent the Argentine superstar racing towards goal in the 60th minute.

Messi calmly feinted to deceive Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel before coolly finishing for a 4-1 lead.

His second goal came from another familiar Barcelona connection, with Luis Suarez crossing from the left. Messi expertly controlled the ball at the edge of the six-yard box before unleashing a powerful shot past the goalkeeper, sealing the impressive 5-1 rout.
