The Egyptian Red Crescent announced on Thursday that 153 trucks loaded with aid were en route to Gaza through the Rafah border crossing following the declaration of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Two representatives from the Egyptian aid organisation confirmed on Thursday that “153 aid trucks entered via the bypass road of the Rafah crossing to be delivered into Gaza.”

Included among the trucks were 80 from the United Nations, 21 from Qatar, and 17 from the Egyptian Red Crescent, they mentioned.

Previously, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reported that it had successfully sent medical supplies to the al-Saraya Field Hospital in Gaza City, operated by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The delivery, which was in collaboration with PRCS and arranged with the authorities in Gaza and Israel, was the eighth contribution to medical facilities in recent weeks, according to a statement from the organisation.

It noted that eight pallets containing disposables, infusions, dressing kits, analgesics, anaesthetic medications, antibiotics, and other essential supplies will be used to care for patients wounded by weapons and others at al-Shifa Medical Complex.
