A Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Bolade-Oshodi has arraigned eight people over the alleged assault of an officer of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).

The defendants are Ibiwunmi Oladunjoye (30), Sikiru Oyelami (45), Aja Daniel (29), Sanusi Abayomi (31), Timothy Emmanuel (22), Ajoke Adegoke (24), Ridwan Adeshina (30) and Sulaimon Akinbola (28).

Prosecutors said the suspects attacked KAI officials at No. 134 Sinari Daranijo Street, Victoria Island, during a joint enforcement operation at Yakoyo Abula Restaurants.

They face five counts, including conduct likely to breach public peace, conspiracy to commit a felony, inflicting grievous bodily harm on seven KAI officers with dangerous weapons, unlawful possession of a cutlass, and attempted murder of officers in the lawful execution of their duties.

All eight defendants pleaded not guilty.

The court ordered their remand in a correctional facility pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions and adjourned the case to January 28, 2026.
