A road crash in the Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State has killed five people and injured 13 others.
The accident occurred at Zangzat Roundabout, Langtang, around 3 a.m. on Sunday, involving a trailer carrying marketers from Shendam to Jos.
The Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Pirfa Tyem, confirmed the crash in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Precious Yakubu.
He stated that preliminary investigations suggested the registered vehicle, bearing plate number JJN 383 YZ, was involved in the crash due to overspeeding and overloading.

The chairman extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
He described the incident as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and noncompliance with road safety regulations.
He urged the Federal Road Safety Corps to intensify sensitisation and enforcement and called on drivers, transporters, marketers, and commuters to prioritise safety, obey speed limits, and avoid overloading.
Tyem further stressed that the council remained committed to working with relevant agencies to promote road safety across the local government area.
The crash comes barely a week after a fuel tanker accident near St Louis College in Jos left two people dead and 16 others injured.
The Langtang incident raises the number of fatalities from road accidents in Plateau State over the past two weeks to 25.
