The Nigerian Army says its troops under Operation Wutan Daji have killed at least 10 terrorists during coordinated operations in Plateau State.
In a report shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the army said the operations took place in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas.
It added that the troops targeted suspected terrorist routes around Daba and Seri villages.
According to the report, soldiers set up blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest, where they made contact with terrorists travelling on motorcycles.
The army said a gunfight followed, leading to the killing of several terrorists, while others escaped with injuries.
Troops later searched the area and recovered the bodies of 10 fighters, along with weapons and other items.
Recovered materials included two motorcycles, 25-litre jerrycans of petrol, one AK-47 rifle, and a magazine loaded with 7.62mm ammunition.

The army said the operation is still ongoing and troops remain on alert as they continue offensive actions in the area.
It also restated its commitment to sustained operations aimed at restoring peace in affected communities.
“Recovered items include two motorcycles, 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit, one AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 7.62mm special ammunition.
“The operation is ongoing, with troops maintaining high fighting spirit and sustained offensive posture in the area.
