AC Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot solidified the club’s push for a Champions League return by scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Verona on Sunday.
The French midfielder capitalised on a midfield turnover in the 41st minute, exchanging passes with Rafael Leao before calmly finishing for his sixth league goal of the campaign.
The win moves Milan back into second place in Serie A and establishes a comfortable eight-point cushion over the teams trailing in fifth and sixth.
Despite the crucial result, Rabiot remained critical of the team’s performance, noting that they made numerous errors in what was otherwise a lacklustre match.

He emphasised the necessity of staying focused on their primary objective: securing a spot in Europe’s elite competition.
With only five matches left in the season, the Rossoneri are now virtually guaranteed a top-four finish, a significant turnaround after missing out on continental football this year.
The victory also provided a platform for manager Massimiliano Allegri to clarify his future.
Following speculation regarding the vacant Italy national team position, Allegri reaffirmed his commitment to Milan, stating that he is already collaborating with management on plans for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the result left Verona in a dire position; their fifth consecutive loss keeps them at the bottom of the table, 10 points adrift of safety and facing almost certain relegation.
