The House of Representatives has given the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, a 48-hour ultimatum to produce the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council before its investigative committee.
The order was issued on Monday at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, as lawmakers resumed their probe into the PFIPC, a body the government says was never legally established.
Representing the IGP at the hearing, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi was directed to ensure the appearance of Adeyemi Adeniyi by noon on Wednesday.
The committee is examining how the PFIPC secured office space at the Federal Secretariat and obtained a ₦1.32 billion allocation in the 2026 national budget despite its questionable legal standing.

Adeyemi’s appearance has become necessary, according to Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi, because of the gravity of the accusations and the institutions involved.
“This committee clearly needs the suspected DG to appear before this committee. People’s names are involved. People’s integrity are involved. Institutional names are involved. Institutional integrity is involved,” Gagdi said.
“It is not an option now. We will need him here to confirm some documents to us in such a way that will not undermine our investigation to enable us to submit our report on time.”
The committee then instructed its clerk to formally inform the Inspector-General of Police of its resolution.
“The committee hereby resolves that the Inspector-General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria do kindly present Mr Adeyemi on Wednesday by 12 noon. That is the ruling of the committee,” Gagdi declared.
