Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, that the military launched the aggressive air campaign following credible intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance reports.
The precision and intensity of the bombardments have triggered widespread fear and confusion among the remaining insurgents.

Recent intelligence assessments indicate that the sustained aerial assaults have heavily disoriented the fighters by denying them freedom of movement and eliminating their safe havens.
The Nigerian Air Force, working in close coordination with ground troops and other security agencies, vowed to maintain relentless pressure on the networks.
Ejodame emphasised that the military remains fully resolute in its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East region.
