Nigerian state governments have received unprecedented federal allocations and are well-resourced to drive infrastructure development, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment said on Monday, dismissing concerns that subnationals lack the capacity to deliver.
In an interview with News Central TV at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, Jumoke Oduwole pointed to increased disbursements from the Federation Account to defend the federal government’s economic record.
“Unprecedented amounts of disbursement, [Federation Account] allocations to subnationals,” Oduwole said.

“Subnationals have never had it so good. And Minister Bagudu actually mentioned that during his opening remarks. So the states are empowered. They have the resources to move on infrastructure.”
“Mr President is clear about what his priorities are: security, power, and growth.”

She stated that President Bola Tinubu remains focused on security, power, and economic growth, noting that the administration is prioritising results over rhetoric.
“Mr. President is clear about what his priorities are. Security, power, growth, prosperity trickling down. He said reforms are done, and now he’s facing that,” she said.
“If you listen to him closely, he’s somebody who says what he means. And so everything he said from day one of his inauguration to today… he’s very clear on his directives, and he’s more about results than a lot of talking.”
