The 15th and 16th Emirs of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II, have reacted to the directive issued by the Kano State Police Command suspending the planned Eid durbar processions in the state.

Both monarchs had earlier announced separate Sallah durbar celebrations, with Emir Bayero scheduled to hold the Hawan Daushe procession, while Emir Sanusi planned the Hawan Nassarawa outing during the Eid festivities.

However, the Kano State Police Command later stepped in, banning the parallel durbar activities in what it described as a proactive move aimed at preserving peace and preventing possible unrest.

The development follows an earlier appeal by the police urging both emirs to put peace and public safety above all else by suspending their planned traditional processions.
